The Experience Of A Lifetime
As we reach the end of our journey, some of the amateur groups reflect upon what Dream has meant to them.
The Tower Theatre Company
This has been, without question, the most remarkable and life enhancing experience. From our first audition to our last night at the Barbican we have been treated as equal partners in an exceptional production and are all the richer for it. We “thank thee for shining now so bright”.
Leeds Art Centre
The Dream 16 Project has been the experience of a lifetime for all of us. We have learnt much to help with our theatrical work, and also that the RSC is a welcoming, caring organisation, and the warmth of our association will stay with us forever. Truly a remarkable Dream!
It has been like going to the moon and back. An incredible journey. Unforgettable, exhilarating, humbling, challenging, frightening, visionary. It has been history in the making for both the Poulton Drama team and the RSC team. I am so proud to have been part of that history and legacy.
It was a week of rollercoaster emotion. The first two days demanding and exhausting, at times hugely scary, then complete elation that we had actually pulled it off, and with the first ‘RSC Lady Bottom’ to boot. But then the coup of all coups on the final day: to perform those words on the 400th anniversary itself! How lucky and how proud we were!
What a fantastic Dream! A rollercoaster ride of emotion, hard work and long days as the RSC Directing Team put the Belfast Mechanicals through their paces pre-show. And when those glorious magical RSC buses and lorries of cast and crew finally rolled into town what a thrill! Opening night we stood on stage caught in the blast of the entire Belfast Grand Opera House audience on their feet and roaring approval at the final curtain – the first of a week of nightly standing ovations!
The Citizen Dream Players
A celebration, eye-opening, a total buzz, a unique once-in-a-lifetime experience, unrepeatable, a privilege and an honour, awesome, crazy, and gruelling.
