On The Road Again

Dream 2016 Associate Director Sophie Ivatts is on the road again and sends us a message from her train travels up to Newcastle for the start of the UK tour…

After 6 weeks of rehearsal in London, 4 weeks opening the show in Stratford, 1 week’s holiday on the Dorset coast recovering, I am now onboard the 08:30 from Kings Cross to Newcastle Central. Joined in the “Quiet” coach by Mari (the amazing Peaseblossom and understudy Puck), we plough northwards through the east coast countryside that is showing the first promising signs of spring.

We now have 3 days to rehearse and tech the show for the proscenium arch at Northern Stage and the tour. Oh and two new amateur companies to rehearse in. And about 60 new schoolchildren…piece of cake? Make that a stotty- you will shortly be arriving in…the bonny Toon.
